How do we encounter the world — and how does music awaken what lies within us? The Des Moines Vocal Arts Ensemble closes its season with Awaken the Senses, an imaginative exploration of seeing, hearing, touch, memory, emotion, and the perceptions that reach beyond the physical world.

Drawing on choral music from across eras and styles, the program moves from vivid images and textures toward deeper questions of imagination, intuition, and inner understanding. Familiar beauty meets unexpected sound as DMVAE invites audiences not simply to listen, but to experience music with the whole self. Join us for a concert designed to stir the senses, enliven the imagination, and reveal more than first meets the eye.
